This month I am into:
-reading or rereading lots of books
-using the computer for hours on end like the hermit I am
-writing short stories or planning them in my head
-power-walking in the mall (it's part of a half-hearted family weight-loss program)
-eating PB&J (also the result of the above). I used to eat PB&J every single day for lunch back in second or third grade (or both?). I think I'm getting back into it.
-getting the mail. There is something about it that's kind of exciting in a commonplace way for me. You never know what you get in the mail (well, besides bills and ads). I like it when I get stuff in the mail because it feels like I'm not completely isolated from the world. Even if it's spam from a college/university that wants my soul/money.
-Solitaire. Seriously. I'm obsessed with the game right now, sometimes for an hour on end...uh-oh.
This month I am NOT into:
-drawing. I have a commission for some textbooks (they're for the Taiwanese school in my area; I live on the suburban outskirts of a big city that has lots of Asians--no stalking please), but I haven't really done any drawing for my own pleasure or drawing for the sake of improving my skills...
-driving. I have basically done everything besides parallel parking (which isn't useful where I live/like to go/live, so it can wait for last) and highway driving. The highway driving thing scares the crap out of me. I can go 50 mph without too many issues, but 55 is not at all comfortable. I've done about five minutes of highway driving and everyone passed me X_X. I need to wake up early to go highway driving but I haven't done that at all this summer. Maybe I'll get my license at the end of the summer if I stop being a wuss about driving on the highway...or maybe not.
-going outside. I'm a hermit, as I mentioned before. In addition, the weather in these parts (hot and humid) does not encourage me to go out in the least.
-studying. I'm supposed to be studying for the SAT Biology Subject Test that I'm taking in October, but I've only studied one chapter. I haven't taken AP Bio, only PreAP Bio back in freshman year, which isn't enough for the test, so I have to really study and learn the material if I want a really good score (770 or above is what I'm aiming for). The reason I'm taking this subject test is that I'm applying to MIT, which requires a math subject test and a science one. I did the math one end of sophomore year, and now I need to do the science one.
I am considering:
-writing another short story soon.
-rereading Harry Potter in its entirety. This will have to wait until next month, for reasons I can't really say for the sake of stalker prevention.
-starting college applications as soon as I can. Meaning early July or early August depending on when the applications are available.
-
begging for ice cream. Bad idea. Yummy but bad.
-which teachers to ask for recommendations. AP English Lang. and Comp. teacher is a definite yes. Now, either AP Spanish teacher who's known me relatively well since freshman year or AP Stats and PreAP PreCal teacher who has known me well since sophomore year.
And i will not be posting on this account anymore.
